Adams Ave Street Fair
Went to the Adams Ave Street Fair today.. honestly, I've been to quite a few street fairs.. and this one by far tops them all. It has the largest variations in cuisines and music.. walking down adams, you find tons of vendors with art, music, businesses but with one thing in common.. community. Its about as memorable as the San Diego Fair (Del Mar Fair for the old schoolers). Each intersection had a stage with a band, and a beer garden.. there was even a small carnival rides area.. this was definitely an event. And stephanie lives literally 10 steps away.. so I parked at her place we cruised the fair.
For my lunch, I went with a Shrimp Po'Boy.. maybe Jayne and I have gone to Kings fish a bit too much.. but it doesnt compare to King's or even Creole Cafe.. so it was eh.
We found a stand that sold Old Fashion Root Beer.. I...LOVE Root Beer.. I purposely hold off on drinking too much root beer so that I can better enjoy it when I have it.. and I've never had old fashion root beer before, so I had to try it..
And I must say.. it wasnt what I expected. LOL.. its like the full flavor of Root Beer.. without the carbination.. which threw me off.. cause it was like it was flat, but it had all its taste.. but it quickly grew on me.. and it became a favorite. Kinda much on the sweet side.. but very delish.
We did try some of the "Flavor of Africa" where we tasted some african finger pies.. which pretty much tasted like Cream Cheese Wontons. LOL.. I guess african appetizers taste like Chinese appetizers LOL..
Our beer garden of choice.. Sierra Nevada.. I had the anniversary brew.. basically a Sierra Nevada with an Anniversary Title.
After the fair, stopped by Stephanie's apartment and watched Tsy and Naknak play Warhammer, and then we took off to Charisses again for more Rockband.
Brats, Beer, Veggies and Rockband is pretty much how our night went...
We Sang, we drank... we rocked out til 4 in the morning til we were fatigued and staring blankly at the tv screen arms heavy from playing for about 10 hours straight, leg cramping from all the expert drums, fingers bleeding, guitar picks broken from rockin on the guitars.. we were beat.. but we didnt care..
I'm still getting owned by Everlong.. and now AFI's Girls not Grey is fuckin me up.. bravo harmonix.. you have given me a challenge.. i accept.
bitch.. watching both of these there should be NO REASON why i cant pass these fuckers. lol well that last bridge to the chorus does suck a bit on the AFI song.. LOL
