After the near drama at the house party.. I was ready for some GH4 Pwnage. Upon arrival, when you first walk in is the Rock Band setup.. where we usually play..
And in the garage was the new.. not improved.. Guitar Hero 4.
My honest opinion of GH4.. its boring. Song list is decent, alot of songs already done in rock band so there really is no need to buy an entire new system.. the cymbals were too low, i wasnt sure if you could raise them up, but they were clipping the end of the stick when i lifted off the drumhead and would either throw me off sync or flip the stick out of my hand.. and not to mention the sticks were as light as straws!
The drums themselves can take a beating.. but the pedal.. OMFG.. the fucking pedal is total shit. its got a flimsy build to them which makes it very difficult to snap in half.. good for the rugged design.. bad because it doesnt feel like a pedal.. AND!!!! its not fastened down.. Charisse used one of those drawer slip mats to stop it from slipping.. and it didnt work.. i was pretty much sticking my leg out most songs. At least the rockband stock pedal hooked on to the bottom railing. (pretty stupid Guitar Hero Drum Designers)
The one thing that I do actually like about the game, is that its unbelieveably hard. (What GH series is known for) Even on hard its pretty rough but also boring cause you dont get the challenge.. but expert is just ridiculous. It may be that I'm not used to the blue center tom, but with some practice i can break away from the rock band mentality that the crash cymbal is on the right green and try for some of the cymbal crashes. and 3 tom fills.
I didnt get a chance to try out the guitar with the new slide pad.. it looked pretty sweet.. its like a kaos pad for freestyling.. its something i'll try out next time we go over to her place.
There wasnt much else to the night.. i've been up since 7am for paintball.. and it was just a struggle just being here this late and with all the events today.. it was just hard to keep my eyes open.. by about 2am half the people in the rock band room were knocked out.. Ryan was one of them.. he drove so it was good he grabbed some shut eye.
I think total i was up for about 20 hours today.. tomorrow is a bye week for the Chargers.. which means i'll be sleeping in x_X
