I caught this on the Playstation Store and Downloaded it.. Its a PSP based Rock Band.. and I must say.. it is fantastic.. After playing the shit out of DJ Max Portable and DJ Max Portable 2.. I kind of let my PSP collect dust.. My Puzzle Quest Warlock was maxed out, and no games have actually interested me, and since I have an iPhone now, there was no need to keep my PSP in my bag for entertainment value anymore.. I've downloaded a few Demos here and there, dusted off the PSP and installed them only to uninstall them 10 minutes later..
Rock Band Unplugged is completely fun! Take the Rock Band song list, give it that DJ Max Portable Feel/Interface.. and if you've played the Frequency/Amplitude Series they add that element to it.
Frequence and Amplitude were Playstation1 games that were similar to the guitar hero interface, but played on the controller.. but you had to use the R1/L1 buttons to move from the 3 tracks connecting the lines to create the song..
The object was to not break the line frequency.. bigger lines = higher score.. I remember one of the things that turned me on to that game was Dj QBert had a song in the first one.. also P.O.D and such.
Rock Band Unplugged brings the track movement feel to the PSP, its a bit confusing at first, but once you get used to it, its actually very VERY addicting.. since' I was already used to the concept.. i quickly moved up from medium to expert..
You basically play all the intstruments Bass, Drums, Vocals, Guitar.. you play a phrase completely and it will auto play until you come back to it.. so after completing a phrase move on to another track and complete that phrase, which makes for great challenge since you'll be grooving on guitar, then quickly switch to the melody of the vocals, to the offbeats of the bass licks then back to the fast strums of the guitars so on and so on.. sounds hard but its actually quite exciting..
The game is scheduled to come out on June 9th, but you can DL the demo on PSN now.. if you have a PSP DL this and give it a go..
I found a complete list of the songs that will release with the game and the first Ten DLC tracks.. im actually VERY excited for this game.. LOL
