Fil-Am Fest

I don't normally go to these events anymore, but I figure what the hell.. its Saturday, Jayne's not going to be free til about 3 or 4 and I'm bored. And Ryan just lives down the street from it. LOL.

For those that dont know the Fil-Am Festival is a Filipino-American Festival That started (i want to say a few years back) where they closed down Parkland st which is a residential side street, now they've fully grown to taking over a major street that runs through paradise valley (the capital of filipino in san diego.)

**Please note, I fucked up and shot all my pics in 1250ISO. LOL So they are fugly. And I was shooting lazy too.

The infamous Paradise Valley rd, swarmed by filipino culture.. (so that would make it a normal day ha!)

I don't know the name of this group, but they performed on the side-stage and I have to note they butchered a really nice Colby Caillet song with Jason Mraz. It sent bad vibes down my spin and I think I threw up a lil in my mouth. I'm not trying to be a dick, but it was bad.

This is my friend Gina, I haven't seen her in years, in high school she was a singer and a great one at that, and it looks like she moved on to bigger and better things, like travelling the world with her band Liquid Blue. Congrats! She's doing this show as a favor to a friend..

She performed with this group, I'm not sure if they had a name though..

Julz from Mindzalike rockin the victory booth.

Klev gettin down victory style.

Check it out! Bambu (Filipino Hip Hop Star) rocking a Son of Ran Shirt! Which by the way, I was able to meet Randy (Son of Ran) at the fest, He was chillin with his wife, and I had to give him love about how I love his music. He was grateful for it, and I was too, theres not many hip hop artists in the filipino community that break the typical bling bling flossy flossy shit thats on the radio, and to hear some true lyricisim.. i'm proud that he's filipino representing the right way. And I can't wait to hear the new album. Cause you know I'm still bumpin that first one in my iPod til this day. Check him out!

PST Gear. We saw them at Comic Con with the manny pac shirts, we might have to pick up a few before we go to the fight in december! They had this DJ shirt I wanted, but they were charging like $30 for it.. saying it was new.. and I only had a 20 on me. LOL.. oh well.. they told me to go to House of Flava for it soon, for those that dont know.. House of Flava resides in a dirty ass mall named Plaza Bonita. LOL not sure if I want it that bad.

The main stage... oh oh.. and whos rockin the tunes? Mindzalike fooooool!

I like this group, not sure what their name was either, but they came on and rocked HARD. The lead singer's vocals reminded me of classic X-Japan, Dragonforce, kind of a metal/soul mix.. it was pretty dope. I know! Muse! they're just like Muse! Check out Muse and you'll understand what I mean.

EdRoc pleasing the crowd son!

And to note.. this was my favorite shirt there. LOL. Not graphically, just note-worthy. And for my non-san diego friends.. this is the SDSU logo converted to say SUSU.. which means TITS in filipino slang. haha..

It was fun, I actually DIDNT spend any money at the event, with the exception that I almost bought that PST Shirt. But I will eventually. When I find it.
